HISTORY
Following a $22 million renovation, the San Carlos Hotel is one of Manhattan’s premier, four-star hotels featuring spacious and luxurious accommodations. The renovations project began in February 2002 as originally schedule, just months after 9/11 and re-opened July 4th, 2003.
The San Carlos Hotel caters to domestic and international business travelers, diplomats, families, couples on a getaway, group retreats and small meetings. According to the architect, Nobutaka Ashihara, and the interior designer, Brad Elias, the hotel has a contemporary, yet elegant feel. Satin chrome metal and mahogany wood decorates the lobby, as well as the spacious more traditional guest rooms. The property’s two Penthouse Suites have an adjoining garden terrace and one features a wood-burning fireplace.
The hotel offers 147 spacious and luxurious accommodations including 83 Deluxe Rooms, 20 Executive Suites, 42 One Bedroom Suites, and 2 Penthouse Suites with terraces.

The San Carlos Hotel is located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan at 150 E 50th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues. The hotel is surrounded by some of New York’s most popular tourist attractions, shopping, business district and fine dining establishments.
